Recent message from FPL

As a customer of FPL you may have received the following message:

“We continue to experience extreme, record-setting summer heat, which means we’re all using more energy to keep our homes cool. Because A/C units run twice as long in the summer than during cooler months and account for more than half of your energy bill, you likely will notice your summer bills are higher than normal. Now is the time to take control of your energy use, because forecasters predict August to be another extremely hot month.”

Included in this message they did also state the following ways to save energy and money:

  • You can save energy and money by increasing the temperature in your home.
  • We recommend setting your thermostat to 78 degrees when you’re home and 82 degrees when you leave.
  • With every degree you increase, you can save about 5% on your monthly cooling costs.
  • Visit FPL.com/EasyToSave to help you find even more ways to save.

So it appears we’re expecting another HOT month which means air conditioners will be working very hard to keep you comfortable inside your home. If you still have a system that is over 10 years old, you may want to consider upgrading and replacing that old inefficient system to a new high efficiency air conditioner. Remember, we do offer FREE IN-HOME consultations for air conditioner replacements.

System less than 10 years old? Think when the last time you had a maintenance performed on your unit. Remember, all manufacturers recommend maintenance be performed twice annually, which is especially important here in South Florida due to the amount of use our air conditioner systems experience.

As always, if you have any questions, please Contact Us.
